George Lucas’ 4 Children: All About Amanda, Katie, Jett and Everest

During his career, George Lucas revived two of the most famous franchises in the history of cinema: Star Wars and Indiana Jones. In his private life, however, he is the father of four children.

The director had his first child, Amanda, through adoption in 1981 with ex-wife Marcia Lou Griffin. Although the couple ended their marriage and divorced in 1983, Lucas adopted two more children: daughter Katie in 1988 and son Jett in 1993.

In August 2013, three months after marrying Mellody Hobson, the couple had a daughter together via surrogate: Everest Hobson Lucas.

Lucas opened it CBS This Morning co-host Charlie Rose on fatherhood in 2015, explaining the impact it has had on his work.

“I gave up directing to be a dad. You know, 15 years of directing, just running a company and being an innovator. But I wasn’t doing what I really love to do, which is actually making movies,” Lucas said. “It was one of those things you don’t expect to happen. But once I became a dad– it was like lightning struck me.”

The father of four also made it clear what his priorities are. When Rose asked him what he would like written on his obituary, he replied: “I was a great dad – or I tried to be.”

Amanda Lucas, 42

Lucas and his ex-wife Griffin adopted a girl, Amanda, in 1981. She was born on July 1 of that year.

Right now sharing her time between Las Vegas and San Francisco, Amanda is a professional mixed martial arts fighter. Known by the nickname “Powerhouse” while in the ring, she won many DEEP matches against Japanese veteran MMA fighters.

In 2013, a documentary about Amanda’s profession was published. Addressed LUCASthe documentary detailed Amanda’s life growing up and her journey into the world of MMA.

“I don’t think I ever measured up to other kids, so when I really fell in love with jiu jitsu, that’s what really made me want to do this,” she said in the trailer, which also features her famous father.

“I didn’t know much about mixed martial arts until a few years ago,” he said Star Wars the creator said to the camera. “I was a little surprised when she came up to me and said ‘I want to do it.’ I said, ‘Okay, do what you love.’ ”

July 11, 2014 Amanda and her husband Jason welcomed their first childa son named Felix.

Katie Lucas, 35

Katie was born on April 13, 1988. Lucas adopted her as a single parent that same year.

Following a similar path to her father, Katie is an actress and screenwriter. She had several roles in Star Wars trilogy. In 1999 The Phantom Menace she portrayed Amee, a friend of young Anakin Skywalker. She was credited with the alias “Jenna Green” for the role. IN Attack of the clonesshe played a purple Twi’lek girl named Lunae Minx, ouch Revenge of the Sithshe made a cameo as Senator Chi Eekway.

Later in her career, Katie wrote several episodes Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

Katie has appeared on the red carpet many times besides her father. One of their first red carpet moments was at the 75th Diamond Jubilee Celebration of the University of Southern California School of Cinema and Television, held in September 2004.

More recently, the father-daughter duo performed at the 2017 LACMA Art + Film Gala, which honored Lucas’ work in the film and television industry.

Jett Lucas, 31

Jett was born on February 17, 1993, and Lucas adopted him the same year.

Lucas’ only son, Jett, had numerous roles in his father’s productions and beyond Star Wars franchise. Like his older sister Katie, Jett made few appearances in the Attack of the clones and Revenge of the Sith. He played the uncredited character of Zetta Jukassa, a clever play on his name.

Jett also worked in the visual effects department The Mandalorian as a visual effects production assistant for the first season, which premiered in 2019.

Showing his support for the franchise his father created, Jett was a celebrity guest at the Star Wars Celebration convention in Anaheim 2022.

To celebrate May 4, 2018, which month and date is known as official Star Wars day in popular culture, Jett posted a sweet tribute to his family.

Everest Hobson Lucas, 10

Shortly after marrying Mellody Hobson, Lucas and his new wife had a daughter: Everest Hobson Lucas, born via surrogate on August 9, 2013.

The birth of Everest made Lucas a father for the fourth time, at the age of 69. In the same year that his youngest daughter was born, the director made the decision to sell his film and television production company Lucasfilm to Disney. The contract was concluded for 4 billion dollars.
