George Stephanopoulos’ New Book Examines History’s Biggest Decisions Made in the White House Situation Room

George Stephanopoulos uses his White House expertise in a newly announced book, Situation roomwhich will be released in the spring of 2024.

Host of ABC This week and co-host Good morning America — who was President Bill Clinton’s senior adviser and director of White House communications — wrote the historical detail to offer a behind-the-scenes look at one of the most secretive rooms in modern history.

“Along with the Oval Office, no place better exemplifies the power and mystery of the presidency than the White House Situation Room,” says Stephanopolous. “Decisions made in that windowless sink in the basement of the West Wing determined the fate of the president and shaped the course of history, but relatively little has been written about it and the people who work there — no comprehensive history in nearly two decades.” When I discovered that fact, I knew I had to write this book.”
