Gerald Green was born in Houston, Texas on January 26, 1986. He is also 37 years old. He was born to mother Brenda Green and father Gerald Green. His father works as a professional firefighter. He has three siblings: two sisters, Terika Green and Delonya Green, and a brother, Garlon Green, who is also a professional basketball player overseas.
Gerald Green Education and early career
Gerald started playing basketball in the second year of high school. He was a junior varsity player at J.Frank Doble High School. He was dismissed from the team due to academic problems. He soon transferred to Gulf Shores Academy, a charter school, where he repeated a grade. Green was selected as an All-American.
In addition, he was the leading scorer in the McDonald’s All-American Game. He also defeated Josh Roberts in the 2005 McDonald’s All-American Slam Dunk Contest. Green previously committed to Oklahoma State University, but later decided to enter the NBA draft instead. He was one of the last players to enter the NBA right out of high school.

Career
Gerald Green spent most of his career as a shooting guard/small forward. Green was selected 18th overall by the Boston Celtics. He spent two seasons with the Celtics before being acquired in the 2007 Kevin Garnett trade. Green found himself on the bench after being traded to the Minnesota Timberwolves. He won the NBA slam dunk contest in 2007. The Wolves agreed to trade Green. He was traded to his hometown team, the Houston Rockets, but was soon released.
Green also played overseas for Lokomotiv Kuban, Foshan Dralions and Krasnye Krylia before returning to the NBA on December 8 when he signed with Los Angeles but was waived by the Lakers on December 22.
