Geri Halliwell-Horner and Christian Horner: All About Their Relationship

Geri Halliwell-Horner and her husband, Christian Horner, are a match made in heaven.

The former Spice Girls member and Formula 1 Red Bull Racing team boss first met in 2009 at a racing event, but didn’t officially start dating until 2014. However, when Geri and Christian fell in love, a whirlwind romance quickly followed, and they married the following year.

A year and a half after the wedding, the singer and the athlete had a son, Monty. The couple have since started a blended family, helping Gera’s daughter Bluebell Madonna Halliwell from her relationship with British director Sacha Gervasi and Christian’s daughter Olivia Horner from her marriage to Beverley Allen.

In an interview with S. 2023 The TelegraphChristian was honest about his relationship with the singer.

“Life works in mysterious ways. I didn’t marry Geri because she’s a Spice Girl. I married her because I fell in love with her,” he said. “Next year at this time it will be 10 years and we’ve been happily married for seven.”

They met at a race

Geri and Christian met several times before they started dating. The Formula 1 manager said The Telegraph that he met his future wife for the first time at the Monaco Grand Prix in 2009.

“[Geri] was a guest [former CEO of the Formula One Group] Bernie Ecclestone has been in Monaco for a year and he went down to the pits,” he explained. “I remember [McLaren boss] Ron Dennis was standing next to me, and Eddie Jordan was there.”

Kristijan added that he was hoping for a sweet greeting from Geri, but it went a little differently than expected.

“She kissed Ron on the cheek and she kissed Eddie on the cheek. So I thought, ‘Okay, I’m here for a kiss on the cheek!’ And I went to give her one, and she held out her hand to me!” he recalled fondly.

They made their red carpet debut at an F1 event

Geri and Christian first stepped out as a couple for a charity run in July 2014. Earlier that year, Geri and Christian were seen at Poppy Delevingne and James Cook’s wedding reception in Kensington Palace Gardens, walking hand-in-hand with Geri’s daughter Zvoncic.

They announced the engagement in a newspaper ad

Ginger spice and Formula 1: Drive to survive the star announced her engagement in November 2014 in the classic way — with an ad in a British newspaper.

“The engagement has been announced between Christian, son of Mr and Mrs GM Horner and Geraldine, daughter of the late Mr LF Halliwell and Mrs A Parkinson,” the listing said Time read, according to The Huffington Post.

Afterwards, Geri spoke about personal news on X (formerly known as Twitter). “Christian and I are overjoyed to announce that we are engaged! We are both very happy. 😊,” she wrote.

They got married in England in 2015

Geri and Christian were married in a star-studded ceremony in Bedfordshire, England on May 15, 2015.

Wedding guests included Sir Jackie Stewart, Jennifer Saunders, Dawn French and former F1 driver David Coulthard. Although Gera’s former colleagues from the Spice Girls Victoria Beckham and Melanie Brown were not at the wedding, they congratulated the newlyweds via X.

“@GeriHalliwell sending you love and happiness. I’m so sad I couldn’t be with you on your special day x I love ux,” wrote Posh Spicewith a photo of former bandmates hugging.

Brown, also known as Scary Spice, added“@GeriHalliwell wishes you the best special day of your life, love you xxxx.”

They share a son

Geri and Christian celebrated the arrival of son Montague George Hector Horner on January 21, 2017.

“Montague George Hector Horner arrived this morning, a beautiful little brother for Bluebell and Olivia,” Geri wrote on Instagram.

As its title states, when Montague, aka Monty, was born, he joined a blended family, including older sisters, Bluebell and Olivia.

The mixed family of Gerri and Christian is “harmonious”

In his interview from March 2023 The TelegraphChristian opened up about how their blended family made it.

“I have a great relationship with Beverley and Beverley gets on with Geri and Geri is great with Olivia and Olivia has a great relationship with Monty,” he told the paper about his family members’ relationship. “It’s completely harmonious.”

The former Spajsica posted a sweet tribute in honor of her stepdaughter’s 10th birthday in October 2023.

“Happy birthday Olivia! 10 today 🥳. We love you so much! You’re amazing!” she wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the couple.

Geri appeared in a racing show and a movie

Geri appeared with her husband in the Netflix series Formula 1: Drive to survive. The Red Bull Racing boss often filmed scenes with Geri and their family at their spacious home in Oxfordshire.

The “Spice Up Your Life” singer even starred in the 2023 film Gran Turismowhich fictionalized the true story of a player turned professional runner.

Geri played the main character’s mother, and the role was very close – Christian was the real-life boss who signed the outsider contract the film is based on.

Christian supports her writing

In October 2023, Geri published her novel for young adults Rosie Frost and the Falcon Queenand her husband immediately stopped breathing.

Geri told PEOPLE that Christian texted her after he started reading the book, saying, “‘I read the first 135 pages. The book is great. It draws you in and it’s really impressive. Better than I imagined. I’m so proud of you. .’ ”

The singer-turned-writer said Christian’s praise meant a lot to her.

“I was like, ‘Oh my God’. He doesn’t read that often, except maybe on vacation, so when he sent me that text, I just grinned,” she continued. “It’s so nice that it was vacuumed. It is nice.”
