Christmas came early for Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly’s wife Ashley!
After campaigning on social media for superstar Shohei Ohtani to sign with her husband’s team — and take her husband’s No. 17 jersey — Ashley opened her front door Saturday to find a Porsche parked outside her home.
He shared the video clip on his Instagram and on Dodgers’ X Bill depicts a mother of four’s shock at an unexpected special delivery.
“It’s yours,” Joe, 35, could be heard saying off-camera to an initially confused Ashley. “From Shohei, he wanted to give you a Porsche.”
“Shut up!” Ashley replied as she looked at the silver four door vehicle parked by the curb.

For Ashley, the six-figure gift capped off a hilarious social media campaign to get the 29-year-old Ohtani to sign with the Dodgers.
During six seasons with his previous team, the Los Angeles Angels, Ohtani wore No. 17, but it was the same number as Joe’s jersey — which he wore last season with the Dodgers.
In her #Ohtake17 campaign, she begged for the two-way talent to come to the Dodgers.

In a video from Dec. 8 — the day before it was announced that Ohtani had signed a record 10-year, $700 million contract with the Dodgers — Ashley placed a row of No. 17 jerseys on the floor, explaining that one with the words “Mom ” on the back could refer to Shohei’s mother, and even the flashy bag could have the words “Kelly” removed in favor of “Ohtani.”
At one point in her sales pitch, she told her followers that she would try to be quiet because her 7-month-old “ShoKai” — real name Kai — was sleeping.
“I changed his name for this s— too,” she stated deadpan.
In a video released on Dec. 11 to celebrate Ohtani’s signing, Ashley discarded her husband’s various No. 17 jerseys on their front lawn, before Kelly himself showed up at the door.
On the back of the white T-shirt he was wearing, Ashley wrote “KELLY” and “No. 99.”
Joe himself has experience exchanging his jersey for another item of clothing.
Dodgers pitcher Joe Kelly trades his jersey for a Mariachi player’s jacket, wears it to the White House
In 2021, while attending a White House event celebrating the Dodgers’ 2020 World Series championship, Kelly sported an unconventional look.
The Dodgers star wore a specially embroidered black-and-white Mariachi jacket — a gift from Grover Castro, trumpeter for Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar.
The band had performed at Dodger Stadium earlier that year, and during pregame warmups, Kelly and Castro struck up a conversation on the field.
It turns out that Kelly wanted Castro’s coat, and in exchange she offered his personal baseball jersey.
“New member alert,” the band later joked on Instagram. “Mariachi Garibaldi de Jaime Cuéllar at the White House! Check out what Joe Kelly wore to meet President Joe Biden at the White House! ¡Que Vivan Los Dodgers!”
