Gerry Turner is ready to welcome the Golden Bachelor!
After the recording of the special series Women Say Everything on Thursday, current The Golden Bachelor host, 74, told PEOPLE that he would be “wholeheartedly in favor” of an all-female spinoff of the ABC dating show.
“I don’t have anything to say about that, just to be clear, but I think it would be exciting because it will continue the theme that we started to be full of hope and be visible in our age,” he added. “Let’s hope it happens.”
However, the 72-year-old retired restaurateur refrained from choosing a favorite for the role among the women who fought for his heart in the first season The Golden Bachelor.

“There are 22 women who stand out. I absolutely could not single out one,” he said. “They each have a certain personality that would make the show interesting and charming, and they’re all intelligent, so there’s no bad choice.”
Faith Martin — who was shockingly eliminated during Thursday’s episode — wasn’t shy about throwing her hat in the ring for the coveted position after falling in love with Gerry during filming.
“I really believe in the process,” Faith said. “I feel like I’ve seen it work and lived it. I know that in such a short time you can have such feelings and I trust these producers.” “It’s like they’re matchmaking gods or something because how can they put so many people in a situation where they’re compatible and can find those feelings and actually find love on their shows?” she continued. “I mean, they’re really good at what they do. So I never would have believed the process could work, but it does.”

The Golden Bachelor: After Gerry eliminated the favourite, he said his love for her was ‘sincere’
“So I think we should continue to do that with this age group, because I think it gives people hope. I think it’s really fun to watch, and I would definitely like to do something like that,” she added.
When asked if he had guidelines for Faith if she becomes The Golden Bachelor, said Gerry, “I don’t think Faith needs my advice. I really don’t. She pulled herself together. She knows what she wants. She knows what she can and can’t do. Yeah, she doesn’t need my advice.”
Faith also opened up to PEOPLE about the emotional toll of breaking up with Gerry.
“I didn’t feel human for about three and a half weeks,” she admitted. “I seriously felt that my left and right brain were out of sync. In my logical brain I could understand how things were going, but in my heart I felt like a shattered emotional wreck.”

“So it was very difficult for me to get those two to realign and come back to the real world,” she added. “Thank God, I feel the support I’ve had from the crew, producers and people who have been so incredibly supportive, you feel loved and cared for afterwards, and that’s why it’s been so nice. It was such an amazing experience and unlike anything else. An event that completely changed my life for the better.”
Faith shared that her perspective on love changed after she first met Gerry, explaining: “I feel like from the moment I met Gerry I had a different perception of what I wanted in a relationship moving forward in my life, whether with Gerry or anyone else.”
“And it took him kind of breaking down my walls and making me realize that,” she added. “So it was huge. And then deeper and deeper into it, knowing that the risk is great. It was a big step for me because I probably wouldn’t have said what I did under any other circumstances and gotten away with it knowing the risk was so great.”
