Gilbert Gottfried (February 28, 1955 – April 12, 2022) was an American stand-up comedian, actor, voice artist, and comedian. He voiced Iago in the animated series Aladdin. Additionally, he voiced Digit in the PBS educational animated series Cyberchase.

Gilbert Gottfried was born in Brooklyn, New York City on February 28, 1955. There is not much information about his family except that his father’s name is Max Gottfried. He has two sisters: Arlene Gottfried, a photographer who died in 2017, and Karen Gottfried.
Gilbert began his career as a teenager doing stand-up comedy shows in New York, where he gained fame and people began to recognize him. In 1980, he appeared in the comedy series “Saturday Night Live”.
In the 1980s, Gottfried landed several acting roles. “Beverly Hills Cop II” was one of his first major films, grossing up to $300 million. Gilbert Gottfried is an excellent voice actor who plays (Iago) in the popular animated comedy-musical adventure film “Aladdin”, as well as its sequels “The Return of Jafar” and “Aladdin and the King of Thieves”.
Gilbert Gottfried also had a lot of success as a voice actor in the 2000s. He appeared as (Mr. Mxyzptlk) in the animated series version of “Superman”, (Digit) in the animated children’s series “Cyberchase” and (Kraang Sub-Prime) in the well-known animated series “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. ” Gilbert Gottfried reprized his role (Iago) in three other films: “Mickey’s Magical Christmas: Snow in the Mouse House”, “Mickey’s House of Villains” and “Disney Princesses: Follow Your Dreams”.
