joy stars Chris Colfer and Amber Riley reunited on Friday, and the moment was captured in an adorable snap that Riley, 37, shared on her Instagram Story.
The two shared a laugh in the photo as Colfer, 33, embraced his former co-star in a sweet hug.
Tagging Colfer’s Instagram handle, Riley, 37, wrote above the picture, “I don’t care how old he is, he’ll always be my baby 😭.”
Colfer, 33, reposted the clip to his account and wrote in response to Riley’s original text: “True. And thank God.”

Riley and Colfer played best friends Kurt Hummel and Mercedes Jones joy, which aired on Fox for six seasons. The two appeared on the hit musical series as main characters from its premiere in May 2009 until its finale in March 2015 – except for season 5 when Riley was credited as a guest star.
Last year, both stars spoke openly about their roles in the Ryan Murphy-led series. Riley has openly expressed her displeasure when fans of the show call her by her character’s name.
“I hate it when people call me Mercedes,” Riley wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) in January 2022 “Respect my name. Call me AMBER or RILEY.”

She continued: “It’s weird that I even have to say this. No shade for the show/character that gave me my career, but please stop this bullshit. I don’t respond to that, and if you do it jokingly, I’ll block you.”
“I’ve done too much in my career to be reduced to one role,” she explained separate post. “I don’t care if you respect the work I did or not, BUT basic human decency is to recognize me as a person and use my real name. Boundaries.”
Since she came joyRiley has appeared in multiple projects, most recently in the 2022 Lifetime film Single black female. She also won the eighth season Masked singer in December 2022.
Colfer, meanwhile, previously revealed he was “absolutely terrified” to play openly gay character Kurt Hummel on joy before he came out.

“When I found out that they wrote this character for me, I was delighted. And when I finally got the script, I realized it was a gay character and I was terrified,” the Golden Globe winner told colleagues joy students Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz on their And that’s what you really missed podcast in November 2022.
“I was absolutely terrified. And back then, people were telling their clients, ‘Don’t play gay characters because it’s going to ruin your career,'” Colfer continued. “But then again, I auditioned for so long and never got anything. There was no option for me, I had to do it. As terrible as it is.”
McHale, 33, who also came out as gay in 2018, asked Colfer if it still bothered him that the show’s writers created a gay character just for him to play. “Oh absolutely… They just assumed. And they were right,” Colfer said as everyone laughed.
