Glenn Close Shows 'Beautiful' Bruised Face on Eve of 77th Birthday After Suffering a ‘Tiny Break in My Nose’

Glenn Close shared her goofy side and good spirits with a few selfies — even as she recovers from a medical procedure that left her face bruised.

“I think this is going to be a particularly GOOD day,” the actress wrote on Instagram on Monday — the day before her 77th birthday — of a series of silly selfies, adding, “(Ignore the bruises. I had a small break in my nose) I feel beautiful as and always.”

The Back in action the actress responded to a commenter who cheekily responded, “Ok that LAST picture reminds me of Stan and Laurel (not sure which is which) 🤪”

“Laurel’s apartment! I loved them when I was little. Still. They were geniuses,” Close wrote of the famous comedy duo Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy.

Although the actress did not reveal what happened to her nose, three weeks ago she shared a video on Instagram in which her nose appears to be unharmed.

According to the Mayo Clinic, “If the fracture has displaced the bones and cartilage in your nose, your doctor may be able to manually realign them. This should be done within 14 days of the fracture, preferably sooner.”

Although her Instagram account mostly features picturesque shots of snow and the occasional political post, the actress is a fan of showing her silly side, recently posting a video of herself making silly faces with the caption: “Morning in a new place far from home . I wish I didn’t have to wash and brush my hair. #bedhead.”

“Yesterday you were on my flight from BZM-ATL. I was so blown away,” a fan wrote to Close. “I would like to greet you, but you looked deep in the conversation with the gentleman next to you…. So I thought I’d say hello here! Hi!”

Close replied: “Hi. Next time please say hello. Thank you for your message.”
