“Great to see Harry and some of my favorite club owners Bill and Bob at @lafc v @intermiamicf last night. Seeing @leomessi play live: wow,” Howerton captioned the two-part carousel that opened with a picture of him and Will Ferrell.

A few months later, McElhenney, 46, included another image taken from the game when describing 2023 in photos he shared on social media.

“Other than that mild allergic reaction to nuts, 2023 has been one of the best years of my life,” McElhenney wrote in the caption of the post. “Thank you to the people and places that made it possible. “[Elhenney] began to fully recognize his value as a creator,” Howerton told PEOPLE. “His ego didn’t get any bigger. He’s not confident, but he’s grown into himself as a creator, as a businessman in a way that I think he could have done a long time ago…I guess he’s just thinking bigger now. And I think it’s good. “They saw something in me. They saw a style of comedic performance that would translate into dramatic performance, and that’s what I was waiting for someone to see,” he added.
