After returning to LA, Allynne joined comedy troupes such as the Upright Citizens Brigade and The Groundlings. She became a regular performer in shows like ASSSSCAT and Wild horses and was part of the Last Day of School improv team.

Allynne talked about her surprise at having an instant relationship with Notar because she had always identified as heterosexual.

“Everything about her was good. I knew I liked her, I knew I cared about her, and that threw me into a spiral of identity crisis,” Allyne explained to Cosmopolitan.

β€œI felt the need to label myself, was I gay? Am I bi? Was I still straight? Have I ever been straight? etc. It took me six months to realize that those labels were ridiculous,” she continued. “Once I could own my true feelings, everything was easy and beautiful. Now I no longer believe in labels.”

The couple exchanged vows in Notaro’s hometown of Pass Christian, Mississippi, in October 2015. The wedding featured celebrity guests such as Sarah Silverman, Alicia Silverstone, Lake Bell, Lucy Lawless and Kate Micucci, among other family and friends.

A few weeks before their arrival, Notaro opened up to PEOPLE about her excitement about becoming a new mom. β€œBut I think more than anything I can’t wait to find out who these little people are. I can’t wait to just watch them, find out their interests, dress them in cute clothes,” she said. “I imagine them as little kids running around in our yard.”

Notaro announced their birth on Facebook, writing, “Max and Finn Notaro arrived happy, healthy and really, really cute.”

Allynne is an accomplished writer, performer and producer with acting credits in series such as One Mississippi, Room 104 and Twin Peaks. She is also known for her roles in films that premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, including In the world (where she met her husband), People post things and Tig.

In January 2022. Deadline announced that Allynne would direct Time and space, a feature film she created with Notar during the COVID-19 pandemic. Produced by Judd Apatow and her own production company with Notaro, Something Fierce, the script focuses on the story of a lesbian couple who swap their LA lifestyle for rural upstate New York.

Notaro said Deadline“There was a lot of inspiration from the pandemic… It was inspired by hearing about the struggles that couples were going through while also thinking how crazy it must have been to have problems when you can’t get away from each other.”
