In the trailer, humans ponder possible threats underground, while Kong faces off against a new monster: miniature Kong. The two Titans are forced to fight against their underground enemies while maintaining the security of their world.
Everything Revealed in the “Godzilla X King Kong” Trailer
Godzilla promises more exploration into the backgrounds of various Monsterverse characters. As Kong has to reckon with the discovery of a young ape-like monster, his own Skull Island backstory will likely come into play. Godzilla will also get a chance to explore his past, although the trailer focuses more on King Kong than the King of the Monsters.
The trailer also promises a scene where Kong and Godzilla rush together toward an unseen figure, likely an older ape related to baby Kong. Both have enhanced capabilities, as Kong appears to have an armor-like robotic arm. Godzilla possesses a power that glows red, rumbling on his spikes before launching a new breath attack. Given these improvements, it seems like King Kong and Godzilla are using some extra support to stop this underground menace.
The film takes each character deep into the Earth, where entire empires await invasion.The stakes are high Godzilla vs. Kong, but the monsters have more than just themselves to face. The cast will also return, including Dr. Erin Andrews, Bernie Hayes and Jia.
