Gogglebox viewers were left devastated to learn that fan favorite couple Stephen and Daniel Lustig-webb will not be returning for the new series.
The Channel 4 stars made the announcement via social media, revealing to followers the reasons for their departure.

“After careful consideration, Daniel and I have decided that we will not be returning for the new series Glasses casebegan the statement shared on Instagram.
“We would both like to thank Channel 4 and Studio Lambert for allowing us to be a part of this amazing, funny and heartwarming show. We are also extremely grateful to the cast and crew, or Glasses case families as we call them and of course the fans, thank you for all your love and support over the years.”

The couple also shared a funny video alongside the statement to give a personal message to fans. “Hey guys, this is Daniel and Stephen!” They started.
“So we thought we’d put out this little video especially for the fans of the show to say thank you for all your love and support over the years. It really meant a lot and we just wanted to make this video to say thank you.
“And if you get withdrawal symptoms, we’re available on Netflix. Oh, and also come to the salon, come and get a haircut. It’s been an absolute ride; it’s been an absolute pleasure. But don’t forget, Channel 4 9 o’clock on Friday: Gogglebox!”
Fans flooded the comments section, with many affected by the news. One person wrote: “What a shame, you guys are my favourites! All the best in the future.” Another echoed it and commented: “I’ll miss you so much, our favorite viewers on TV with the best sense of humor. All the best to you and @stephengwebb1971 on your new adventures. Hope to see more poodles.”

A third added: “Oh no, I’m so sad to hear you’ve left Gogglebox, you were the funniest on there, I’ll miss you so much, the show won’t be the same without you,” while a fourth said: “Awwwww, you guys are by far the BEST couple on here , miss you. Good luck in your future endeavors though.”
Stephen has appeared in the show since the very beginning. He was first on the show with his then-fiancé Chris Steed, but the couple split and Stephen then started appearing alongside Daniel.
Stephen and Daniel, who live in Brighton, became engaged in 2016 and married in a romantic ceremony in 2018, which took place at the picturesque Chateau de Lisse in Lot-et-Garonne, France.
