I gave myself a name: Amir. Every day I wore a scarf to school, and after school I transformed into a boy, went out to the streets to play basketball, and lived a boy’s life. My whole life was this sport. It was dangerous. If they caught me, it would be really serious. My parents were really worried, but they couldn’t control me. Interestingly, one of the big reasons I gave was that I wanted to ride a bike without being whistled at or stared at. I wanted to be invisible.
