Good Morning Britain announce return of show legend in presenting shake-up after Ben Shephard's exit

The GOOD Morning Britain legend has announced his return to the ITV show following the departure of Ben Shephard.

Fan favorite Ben, 49, left his co-stars in tears during his final GMB episode last month before moving on to star on This Morning with Cat Deeley, 47.

Now his replacement has been revealed on Friday – to fill the spot alongside his best friend Kate Garraway, 56.

Adil Ray, 49, opened his page on X over the weekend and reported that he was making a comeback.

He wrote: “From Friday, I’ll be back at @gmb most Fridays until the end of May.

“The first run is the next three Fridays until the Easter holidays.

“I hope you’ll join me. In the current climate, it feels like a great privilege to be on morning TV.

“I would appreciate it if you could join us from 6 am. Thank you.”

Ben fought back tears on his final GMB which aired on February 23.

He previously spoke about how leaving the show with his “wife” Kate was his “hardest decision”.

He was revealed as the new host of This Morning with Cat before leaving the show, and their start date has now been confirmed.

Ben and former SMTV Live host Cat will be the latest partnership on the show and the ultimate replacement for Holly Willoughby, 43, and Phillip Schofield, 61.

Their appointment was confirmed by The Sun exclusive back in December.

His statement to This Morning read: “It’s a really special moment for Cat and I to be part of the next chapter of This Morning.

“It’s an honor to be entrusted with the reigns, join Alison and Dermot and the entire team who work on and off screen and do such a great job.

“For the last ten years I have woken up to our daytime ITV audience on GMB and now look forward to spending time with Cat, welcoming viewers home after the school run or from their early morning routines, with a cup of tea and a mix of everything that makes this morning so loved .”
