GORDON Ramsay has revealed his horrifically scarred torso after a terrifying crash – as he credits his bike helmet with saving his life.

The chef, 57, took to his Instagram on Saturday in his chef’s white outfit to share the shocking news with his followers.

In the caption, Gordon wrote: “With #FathersDay tomorrow I have a very important message for all the dads out there…WEAR A HELMET!

“This week I had a very bad accident while riding my bike in Connecticut.

“I’m fine and haven’t broken any bones or suffered any major injuries, but I’m a bit bruised and looking like a purple potato.”

In the video, he lifted up his chef’s shirt to reveal that the entire side was bruised black and purple.

He added: “I am grateful to all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawerence + Memorial Hospital in New London who cared for me and examined me, but most of all I am grateful for my helmet which saved my life. Have a great Father’s Day and be safe Gx.”

In the video, he emphasized the importance of wearing a helmet and admitted that the accident “really shook me up,” adding: “Honestly, I’m happy to be here.”

As he continued to recount what had happened, his hands twitched anxiously and he admitted he was “in pain.”

Gordon was immediately overwhelmed with support from fans, with one writing: “Omg damn that Bruise!!!!!! Omg glad you’re OK. You’re soooo cool.”

Another added: “Oh my god I’m so sorry!! Glad you’re ok and thank you for spreading awareness about the importance of helmets.”

A third commented: “Gosh you must have been so shaken up, that’s one hell of a bruise that heals fast and as always, thank you for sharing a priceless message. Glad you’re ok.”

Gordon is aware of the importance of Father’s Day because he and his wife Tana have six children.

The couple had their first child – Megan – in 1998, before having twins Holly and Jack and then daughter Tilly.

In 2019, they became parents again to son Oscar before surprising fans by revealing they welcomed their sixth child, son Jesse, in 2023.
