Gordon Ramsay Says Having 6 Kids was Always ‘The Dream’ After Welcoming New Baby Jesse James

Six children was always Gordon Ramsay’s goal.

The TV chef, 57, said having six children with wife Tana Ramsay is a “dream” in a new interview, after surprising fans last year by announcing their sixth child, son Jesse James.

“It was a dream,” the Kitchen Nightmares host said Party tonight when asked by the media if such a large number of children was the goal. “That was the dream we first set out.”

Ramsay and wife Tana welcomed son Jesse James in November 2023. The couple share five other children: daughter Megan, 25, twins Jack and Holly, 24, daughter Matilda “Tilly,” 22, and son Oscar, 4.

In his latest interview, Ramsay said he barely has time for himself now that he’s a father of six and joked that he’s looking forward to having a day off soon.

“Honestly, the holidays are the worst time for any chef because we go to the restaurant, it’s super busy,” Ramsay said ET. “You come home. It’s super busy. And the Ramsay household is like running a restaurant that nobody goes home to.”

“Breakfast, lunch and dinner. ‘Dad, can we have that prime rib tonight?’ We just finished lunch! Can you give me a minute?!’ Honestly, it never works for you,” he added.

In a recent interview with PEOPLE, the father of six shared his shocked reaction to son Oscar suggesting they expand their family even further and have a seventh child.

“This morning Oscar said, ‘Wouldn’t it be nice if Jesse and I had a little sister?’ And I spat out my Cheerios. So yeah, I had to get up from the table and go,” Ramsay joked.

Despite his reaction, it seems he is Hell’s kitchen star could be tempted to add another baby to their brood.

“I didn’t wait to see Tana’s reaction. I literally coughed up my Cheerios all over the table. Well, listen, who knows, right?” Ramsay added.

Ramsay announced the arrival of youngest son Jesse James after his birth, after he and Tana kept their last pregnancy a secret in a cautious decision after losing son Rocky at 20 weeks pregnant, he shared with PEOPLE.

“It was a significant moment in the family’s lives,” Ramsay said. “And so this time we were careful and we were blessed. Jesse really helped bring everyone closer together. And then again, that level of responsibility is even more exciting.”

Ramsay also said he is “unbelievably lucky” with his children as he shared parenting advice on raising six on his show Last meals in an episode that aired earlier this month.

The host’s chef said he warned his children “not to be concerned with fame, fortune, money” as he explained that “everyone works” and encouraged them to save their earnings.

“They have to stay true to form by saving every dollar. And so when you start that practice, at about 10, 11, 12, 13 years old, they get part-time jobs, suddenly their minds are focused on their careers,” he continued. . “And yes, it was the opposite of how I grew up. They’re super disciplined and they’re good at it.”
