Gursharan Kaur was born on September 13, 1937 in Jalandhar, British India (now Jalandhar, Punjab, India) (now 81 years old). She received her primary education from Singh Sabha Girls School and her secondary education from Guru Nanak Kanya Pathshala, Amritsar. After completing her studies, she went to Government Women’s College, Patiala for her graduation. After that, she joined Khalsa College in Amritsar to pursue Bachelor of Teaching (BT).
