Gwyneth Paltrow Says Husband Brad Falchuk Reminds Her of Her Late Father: ‘I Finally Chose My Dad’ (Exclusive)

Gwyneth Paltrow says one of the reasons she fell in love with her husband, TV writer and producer Brad Falchuk, is the cute resemblance he shares with her father.

The Goop founder and CEO, 51, whose beloved father, producer Bruce Paltrow, died of complications from oral cancer in 2002, celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary in September.

“There are things that remind me of my father. It’s like a blue-eyed, Jewish, TV writer, with a heart of gold and a great sense of humor,” she says of Falchuk, 52. “I finally chose my dad.”

Falchuk, who is a co-creator of shows such as American Horror Story, Scream queens and Pose, praises Paltrow’s devotion to others. “If she loves you, she is your champion. It’s as good for her that you’re doing well as it is for her. She literally screams when she hears good news from someone,” he told PEOPLE, adding, “She’s the perfect woman.”

Oskarovka says that living in the “Faltrow” residence, as she likes to call it, gives her the most joy today. And she is proud of the blended family they have created. She has two children, Apple, 19, and Moses, 17, with ex-husband Coldplay singer Chris Martin, while Falchuk also has two children, Isabella, 19, and Brody, 17, from a previous marriage.

“It’s hard, it’s not intuitive and nobody tells you how to do it. Just stick with it,” she says of raising her family. “Now it’s one of the things that brings me the most happiness in my life.”

Paltrow, who recently launched good.clean.goop, a new line of skin, body and wellness products available at Target and Amazon, says her husband is a big Goop fan.

“He likes the shampoo. He tried it for the first time this summer and said: ‘This shampoo is amazing. Look how soft and shiny my hair is.’ I said, ‘I can’t believe I didn’t record that.’ ”
