Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen may have careers in the public eye, but they try to keep their relationship private.

The Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse star and the Buffalo Bills quarterback were first linked in May 2023, shortly after Allen was rumored to have broken up with his longtime girlfriend, Brittany Williams.

Although the couple didn’t confirm their relationship at the time — and haven’t since — they were spotted out on multiple dates, and Steinfeld was even seen spending time with Allen’s mother.

In August 2023, Allen appeared on Pardon My Take podcast in which he neither confirmed nor denied his relationship with Steinfeld — but did not object to the hosts calling her his girlfriend.

After rumors that he and Williams had broken up, the quarterback was seen with Steinfeld. According to the photos he posted New York Post, Allen was seen getting out of a black SUV with Steinfeld nearby.

He was later photographed putting his hand on her back.

May 27, 2023: Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen go on another date in NYC

Just two days later, Steinfeld and Allen were photographed on another trip to the Big Apple, this time with two other people. The athlete wore a completely black suit, while Edge of Seventeen the actress opted for a black mini dress and high-heeled boots.

May 29, 2023: Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen are dating, a source confirms to PEOPLE

It has been officially confirmed that Steinfeld and Allen are in a relationship, according to a source close to the actress. An insider told PEOPLE that the two have been “hanging out for a few weeks” and are a “cute couple.”

“It’s new, but they’re having fun,” the source added.

May 31, 2023: Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen go on a sushi date

The new couple enjoyed another date in New York, this time for sushi at Sushi By Bo in Chelsea. Michael Sinensky, the restaurant’s founder, posted a Facebook photo of the new couple smiling, with Allen’s arm around Steinfeld, as they posed with chef Sergio and another couple during their omakase experience.

“More el chapa fans @chefsergio_nyc. Thank you Josh Allen for always stopping by when you’re in town and loving Sushi By Bo,” Sinensky wrote, adding, “Also thank you for bringing newbies Hailee Steinfeld and friends to #chelsea # nyc experience.”

Allen is also featured in a solo shot with the chef, holding a flamethrower.

June 22, 2023: A source tells PEOPLE that Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen are “dating.”

A few weeks after the sushi date, a source close to Steinfeld confirmed to PEOPLE that the two are “still dating and getting to know each other.”

“He’ll be very busy with training camp though, so they’re not putting too much pressure on him and he’ll see where it goes,” the source added.

August 3, 2023: Josh Allen says it “surprises me” how invested people are in his relationship

During Pardon My Take podcast, Allen was asked if he had seen the headlines about him “making out with his girlfriend.”

“The fact that anyone cares about it still blows my mind,” Allen replied.

He added that some photographers were invasive in trying to photograph the two, recalling a specific instance where he spotted a photographer “on the boat” trying to film him and Steinfeld.

Allen said it was a “disgusting feeling” and created a sense of “insecurity” for the new couple.

October 2, 2023: Hailee Steinfeld spotted shopping with Josh Allen’s mom

Steinfeld went out to the Leveled Up Buffalo store in East Aurora, New York, with Allen’s mom, Lavonne.

The two picked up some items at the store in support of the Bills and took a photo with the store’s owner, Lindsey Vega, which was later posted on the store’s Instagram page.

October 12, 2023: Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen attend a hockey game

The couple were in the stands for the Buffalo Sabers vs. New York Rangers hockey game at the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, New York. Steinfeld and Allen watched the season opener from their suite.

January 7, 2024: Hailee Steinfeld dodges questions about Josh Allen at the Golden Globes

At the 2024 Golden Globes, a reporter asked Steinfeld how he felt about the night, holding a Bills jersey. She just replied, “Really good,” and started to walk away before turning around and calling out, “Wrong number though!”

Elsewhere on the carpet, Steinfeld appeared to deny rumors that she and Allen were engaged, again not commenting on the relationship with the reporter Hey! News he asked her about the ring on her finger.

“What’s with the athletic man?” the interviewer asked, prompting Steinfeld to simply reply, “Listen, what’s this not about? Come on now.”
