Halle Berry Wears Tulle Gown to 2023 Red Sea International Film Festival — and Brings Van Hunt as Her Dapper Date!

Halle Berry shines in Saudi Arabia!

Thursday night, The X-Men actress, 57, attended the closing ceremony of the 2023 Red Sea International Film Festival in Jeddah.

While posing for photos on the red carpet, Berry wore a black silk tulle gown with black and gold brocade embroidery. The stunning dress is from the Elie Saab Haute Couture Fall/Winter 2023 collection.

Berry was joined by her boyfriend Van Hunt who supported her. He also took a photo with Berry on the red carpet.

The Oscar winner also previously spoke at a masterclass during the event, talking about starting her own production company HalleHolly with former WME partner Holly Jeter, according to Deadline. She also explained how a new idea came to her during the flight to Jeddah.

“Finally on the plane coming here I saw the story, I saw what was in my heart and realized what I wanted to share,” she said, wearing a gold costume for the event.

“It’s a love story at its core, but it deals with the supernatural and time travel and the future. It took me the last few years to figure that out,” Berry continued.

She made her directorial debut in the Netflix film 2020 Bruised. The A-lister also starred in the film as a retired MMA fighter returning to the sport.

“I was told a long time ago that if you’re going to direct a story and be a director, especially your first film, it’s best to make it about something you love and something you intrinsically understand,” the actress-turned-director told PEOPLE at the film’s premiere. “And I love the fighting game. I understand this world and I understand what it’s like to be a woman fighting to survive.”

Berry continues to explore her talents both in front of and behind the camera with her upcoming film, Maude vs. Maudein which he teams up with Angelina Jolie to star and co-produce the spy thriller.

Speaking with Diversity at the Red Sea Film Festival, John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum star told the outlet that she and Jolie, 48, “had a rocky start” working on the Warner Bros. project.

“I think it will serve us well in our time together,” Berry said of the film in which she fights Mr. and Mrs. Smith an actress “physically and intellectually” on the big screen.

Fortunately, the leading ladies were able to resolve their issues.

“We talked a lot about divorces and exes. We got close, let’s just say that,” Berry said.

“Warner Bros. bought our script and for us it’s about going places that have never been shown on screen before,” Berry said. Diversity, who reported that she was in Saudi Arabia in part to scout filming locations Maude vs. Maude. “We plan to tour the whole world,” she said.
