Some cities in the United States will enjoy unseasonably warm temperatures this Halloween, while others will see even more gloomy conditions.
Halloween on Thursday, Oct. 31, “will resemble summer in the East, with temperatures 20-30 degrees above normal,” according to the National Weather Service.
Unseasonably warm temperatures will extend from the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions to the Lower Great Lakes region and eastern parts of the Ohio Valley, according to the NWS Weather Center.
Some parts of the southeastern US will also experience above-average temperatures this Halloween, according to The Weather Channel.
“Parts of the South and East could be sweating through their costumes come trick-or-treating,” the Weather Channel said, “as temperatures are expected to stay in the 70s into the evening.”
Some cities in the Northeast, like New York, will experience unusually high temperatures this Halloween that could be 20 or more degrees above average.

Some places like New York, Philadelphia, Boston and Hartford, Connecticut may set new temperature records for Halloween.
However, strong to severe thunderstorms could form across parts of the Ohio/Tennessee Valley and Mississippi Valley on Halloween, with some lingering into the evening.
Cities such as Memphis, Tenn., Louisville, KY, Little Rock, Ark., New Orleans and others have the potential to see severe weather Thursday afternoon, according to the Storm Prediction Center.

Meanwhile, in the central U.S., a cold front “will bring more seasonable temperatures,” as well as “isolated severe thunderstorms across parts of the Midwest and Mississippi River Valley,” according to the NWS.
Forecasters predict the wave of low pressure will “pull cold air over parts of the upper Midwest” and produce “moderate to heavy snow over parts of Minnesota, far northern Wisconsin and parts of the upper peninsula of Michigan.”
Moderate to heavy snow is also expected to fall over parts of the South Cascades, northern Intermountain Range and parts of the upper Midwest on Thursday, according to the NWS.

And in the northwest, forecasters predict the weather will “remain unsettled with rain and heavy mountain snow”.
Temperatures in these regions are expected to be seasonally low, but could remain below average, according to The Weather Channel. By evening, temperatures could be lower than 30 to 40 degrees.
Weather conditions have already forced some areas to postpone some activities before Halloween. In Iowa, more than a dozen communities have moved their Goodbye Night celebrations from Wednesday, Oct. 30 to Thursday after severe to severe storms were forecast for the region.
