The Suwon District Court charged Han Seo Hee with taking psychotropic drugs while on probation in her previous case. When she was arrested in 2016 for consuming marijuana, she was already facing drug charges. She was sentenced to four years of probation for the same crime. The former intern was also seen swearing in court after the verdict in November 2021, when she was arrested for being a flight risk. The infamous K-pop trainee has been sentenced to a year and six months in prison for illegal drug crimes. She was already on probation when she was charged with using psychoactive chemicals such as methamphetamine and amphetamine.

Han Seo Hee was indicted in 2016 on charges that she bought marijuana four times and used marijuana seven times at her home in Jung-gu, Seoul. In 2017, she was sentenced to three years in prison, suspended for four years, a fine of 870,000 won, four years of probation and 120 hours of drug addiction treatment. During the probationary period in July last year, she tested positive for psychotropic substances and was detained in the probation office.
She claimed there was a mistake in the urine test at the time and was given a hair test at the National Institute of Forensic Science. She pleaded not guilty, claiming that her cup fell into the toilet during the test, making the results unreliable. The judge in Han Seo Hee’s case said after the verdict that her claims were invalid because the amount of methamphetamine detected in the cup was more than 300 nanograms, according to the results of a National Institute for Scientific Research test.
According to Judge Kim,
“It is difficult to assume that the water supply contains enough amphetamine to interfere with Han Seo Hee’s test results.”

Judge Kim further found that since she was the only woman present at the time of the urine test, her argument that her test result was mixed with other people’s could not be accepted.
According to the judgment of the Suwon District Court, which was upheld by the Supreme Court:
“the defendant refuses to consider the illegality of her actions and continues to make illogical claims.”
Fans react to referees’ decisions
Fans applauded the Supreme Court’s decision to jail the former intern for the crimes he committed. She also upset K-pop fans by circulating rumors about many K-pop stars. Han Seo-hee has a controversial background in the K-pop music business. When she originally started with JYP Entertainment, she was one of the most promising K-pop trainees, however, she later quit for unspecified reasons. She was also supposed to debut with G-Friend, however, she didn’t. Han also failed to debut with K-pop girl group Gugudan and has been in the spotlight for leaving multiple agencies for personal reasons before reportedly signing with YG Entertainment.
