In 1994 and 1995, Hanuman Beniwal served as the Dean of Rajasthan College and Rajasthan Law College respectively. In 1997, he was elected as the Chancellor of the University of Rajasthan. In 2003, Beniwal contested as an independent candidate in the Mundwa constituency of the Rajasthan Assembly elections, but lost by 2,000 votes.
Hanuman Beniwal was a prominent agricultural leader in Nagaur. In 2008, he contested the parliamentary election in the Khinvsar constituency with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and won by 24,443 votes over the rival Bharatiya Janata Party (BSP). However, in 2011, at an event at the Maharani Women’s College, Benivale accused some Indians, including Vasundhara Raje and Rajendra Rathore BJP leader suspended after corruption in Rajasthan. He claimed Raj was involved in corruption and demanded action from then Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Glot.
After being suspended by the BJP, Beniwal organized five large ‘Kisanhunkamahal rallies’ in Nagaur, Barmer, Bikaner, Sikal and Jaipur districts of Rajasthan “. In 2013, he stood in parliamentary elections as an independent candidate from the same constituency and won by 23,020 votes over his BJP rival. On October 29, 2018, Benivale founded his own political party, the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP), in Jaipur, with the election symbol “Bottle”. In the same year, as a candidate of his party RLP, he won the MLA seat in Khinvsar constituency for the third time, defeating his opponent Savai Singh Choudhary of the Indian National Congress by 66,148 votes.
In May 2019, he became a member of the 17th Lok Sabha from Nagaur constituency in Rajasthan after the RLP joined hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party in Rajasthan.
In 2020, Benival resigned from three parliamentary committees on industry, oil and gas and petitions to show support for farmers protesting the government’s new farm law.

In 2015, students rallying in support of Hanuman Benivale were attacked by police, leading to protests by the National Indian Students Union (NSUI) of Rajasthan universities. The protests turned violent, injuring about 30 students and 18 police officers. NSUI demands action against police brutality.
Benival accuses Rajasthan minister of helping alleged gangster escape
In September 2015, Hanuman Beniwal accused Rajasthan Cabinet Minister Yunus Khan of helping gangster suspect Anandpal Singh escape from police custody . According to Benival, Anandpal Singh supported Yunus Khan to win the 2013 parliamentary elections. Beniwal asked India’s Central Bureau of Investigation to investigate the matter.
Beniwal protests in Rajasthan assembly over non-approval issue
Beniwal protested during a meeting of the Rajasthan Assembly on April 25, 2017, when Speaker Kailash Meghwal did not allow him to ask questions as they related to three different departments. Benival went to the front of the house and tore up his papers. His actions were subsequently criticized by Parliamentary Affairs Minister Rajendra Rathore and the Speaker.
