Happy Gilmore 2 Trailer Reveals First Looks at Travis Kelce, Bad Bunny in Adam Sandler's Netflix Sequel

Get ready to go out on the green again!

Almost 30 years after Adam Sandler’s golf comedy Happy Gilmore became a cult classic, the beloved character makes a triumphant return in the Netflix sequel, Happy Gilmore 2.

The streaming giant gave fans an early holiday treat on Christmas Day by releasing an announcement full of nostalgia. Sandler returns as Happy, rocking his iconic hockey jersey and stepping onto the court like no time has passed.

But Sandler isn’t the only one driving the story. Kansas City Chiefs tight end — and Taylor Swift’s beau — Travis Kelce is making his big screen debut in the movie.

Kelce opens the teaser with the first sentences, immediately attracting attention. Later in the clip, he is seen dressed as a member of the golf club where Happy plays, telling him, “It’s good to have you back, Mr. Gilmore.” Really good!

The returning stars are joined by an exciting lineup of franchise newcomers, including Grammy-winning artist Bad Bunny, Substance star Margaret Qualley, comedian and longtime Sandler collaborator Nick Swardson, Scott Mescudi (better known as rapper Kid Cudi) and Benny Safdie, who co-directed Sandler in Uncut gems.

Recently, Sandler remained tight-lipped about Eminem’s role in Happy Gilmore sequel, but shared that the rapper, whom he’s known for years, put on an unforgettable, hilarious performance during one day of filming.

The buzz around the sequel has been building since May, when Netflix officially announced the project. This comes after Christopher McDonald — who famously played sharp-witted Shooter McGavin — hinted at its development during an interview in March 2024.

Sandler co-wrote the screenplay for the new film with Tim Herlihy, as was the case for the 1996 film.
