Harjinder Kaur was born on Monday, October 14, 1996, in Mehas village, near Patiala, Punjab (age 26; as of 2022). Her zodiac sign is Libra. She completed her school education from Government Girls School, Nabha, Punjab. Later, she studied at SGTB Khalsa College, Anandpur Sahib, Punjab. Harjinder Kaur has been interested in outdoor sports since childhood. Initially, Harjinder Kaur played kabaddi. Soon after completing her studies, Harjinder entered college and coach Surinder Singh assigned her to the college kabaddi team. Later, when she joined the sports department of Panjab University, Patiala, 1990 Commonwealth Games weightlifting champion Paramjeet Sharma noticed her skills and encouraged her to participate in tug-of-war. With his superb skills in tug-of-war, Harjinder decided to participate in a weightlifting competition.

Profession
Harjinder Kaur started weightlifting professionally in 2016 under the guidance of coach Paramjeet Sharma. In 2017, she participated in the national weightlifting championship and won the championship. In 2020, she participated in the 3rd National Women’s Weightlifting Interstate Senior Competition and won the gold medal. In the same year, she participated in the 35th National Women’s Weightlifting Championships. She won a silver medal in the competition. In 2021, she was introduced to Patiala National Camp. Later, in 2022, she participated in the Odisha National Senior Citizens Competition and won the gold medal in the weightlifting competition with a total lift of 208 kg.
On August 1, 2022, she participated in the 71kg competition at the Commonwealth Games. She won a bronze medal in the competition. In an interview, she expressed her gratitude for winning the bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games, saying:
When I started my business in 2016, I did not receive any financial support from my family, but I did receive spiritual support from my family. My coach Paramjit Sharma helped me a lot during those days and he believed that I would win a medal today and I think his belief won me the medal. “

- Harjinder Kaur said in an interview that she developed her muscular arms by operating the Toka Machine, a chaff-cutting machine in her village.
- In a conversation with a media outlet, Harjinder said she comes from a poor family. Her family lived in a one-room house, owned six buffaloes, and her father worked on contracted farmland. When talking about her family’s financial situation, she said:
My father would give me 350 rupees as round trip fare from Naha to Sri Anandpur Sahib University Hostel and another 350 rupees as pocket money. I felt embarrassed asking for more money. ”
