In 2005, Harmeet married Shefali Jariwala, the model of the song “Kaanta Laga”. Their marriage lasted four years and they separated in 2009. Shefali said in an interview that she was in an abusive relationship with Hammett. Later, he started dating “Sunaina Singh”. The couple married in 2010 and have a son.

Hammett’s mother used to listen to old songs on the radio, and he often hummed them and became interested in singing. When he was in 1st standard, Harmeet and his brother Manmeet participated in the inter-school Kirtan competition and won. They have since become popular under the name “Meet Bros”. They composed their first song “Jogi Singh Barnala Singh” while they were in school, which became a huge hit. They also reportedly worked at an FM radio station in Gwalior for a while. They then started their acting career with the TV series “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki” (2000) and later appeared in the TV series “Kkusum” (2001) and “Kyun Hota Hai Pyarrr” (2002). After the success of their first solo song “Jogi Singh Barnala Singh” (2002), they turned their attention to singing. In 2010, they formed a trio with Anjjan Bhattacharya as the third member and named their group “Meet Bros Anjjan”. In 2015, Anjjan quit the group with the mutual consent of the three.
Later, Meet Bros directed music for Bollywood films; for which they won many awards. Their hit songs include “Baby Doll” from Ragini MMS 2 (2014), Chittiyaan Kalaiyaan from “Roy” (2015), “High Heels” from “Ki & Ka” (2016) and ” Dil Ka Telephone in Dream Girl (2019).
