Harry Hamlin Shows Receipts of Infamous RHOBH Bolognese Fight — but Admits 'It Made My Sauce Really Famous'

Harry Hamlin turned a negative into a positive!

During an appearance on SiriusXM The Jess Cagle Show with Julia Cunningham Tuesday, May 14, to promote his cooking show In the kitchen with Harry HamlinThe 72-year-old Emmy nominee told how his messy situation led to his own series.

“I guess AMC came to you and said, ‘Let’s do a cooking show,’ partly because you’re famous for the bolognese on The Real Housewives of Beverly HillsCagle, 58, said during the interview.

The radio host was referring to an episode of the hit Bravo series in which Hamlin found himself cooking bolognese for the ladies, but then things took a turn after a housewife took his delicious Italian sauce to go.

“It came from the fact that they asked me to cook lunch for those girls on the show,” Hamlin said, explaining how the deal came about.

“I made bolognese and they really liked it,” he said, noting that some originally expected to get caterers.

“I mean, Garcelle Beauvais adored him,” he said. “And then it became a whole thing.”

The 80 for Brady the actor said there was a “struggle over it,” but it eventually led to AMC executives wanting to see firsthand how good the sauce was — offering Hamlin his own cooking show.

“Julia reminded me of the fight over your Bolognese Real Housewives and who was not grateful?” Cagle asked.

Cunningham explained it in RHOBH episode, Hamlin made “this beautiful lunch,” complete with “this montage of all the women swooning over what really looks like delicious bolognese, and then Garcelle takes some home.”

According to the co-host, Hamlin’s wife Lisa Rinna, who is no longer on the show RHOBHshe felt like she “didn’t get a proper apology via text message for said bolognese and it escalated into a full blown fight.”

Hamlin interjected, claiming that the disagreement actually stemmed from tickets to Elton John’s gala.

“So Garcelle decided to join that person who said we didn’t thank them for Elton John and because it became a thing, then Lisa said, ‘But wait a minute. You never thanked us for the bolognese sauce,’ Hamlin said, adding that he still had the text he sent Beauvais, 57, after the incident.

“Hi Garcella. Do not worry. I never, ever expect thanks or recognition. I’m so glad you like my sauce,” he wrote in response to her apology.

“This show brings out the best and the worst in us, and in the long run it’s a learning experience that shouldn’t be taken too seriously. I say, as long as the checks don’t bounce, here you go. Our friendship is safe and sound.’ That was my text to Garcelle,” Hamlin said.

Cunningham seemed impressed by his message.

“Well, the whole thing was nonsense at first, but here’s the thing. That made my sauce really famous,” Hamlin said.
