- During the 2019 ODI World Cup against England, Harshmatullah was hit on the head by the bouncer of England bowler Mark Wood. His helmet cracked from the impact, he fell to the ground, and was ordered to retire from the game; however, he continued to hit. In the post-match press conference, he said he left the ground to continue batting because his mother was watching and his brother was also present.
