Heidi Klum Says She Almost Drew Childbirth Instead of Her Wedding During ‘AGT’ Magic Act (Exclusive)

Heidi Klum knows how to think quickly under pressure!

The American talent The judge had to quickly put her artistic skills to the test during Tuesday’s live show when contestant Trigg Watson asked her to draw a “special moment” in her life as part of his magic act. She quickly drew a cute doodle illustrating her wedding to husband Tom Kaulitz.

Speaking to PEOPLE backstage after the show, the 50-year-old judge revealed that she almost drew very a different moment: the birth of her children.

“At that point I thought, ‘What are your special moments?’ I immediately thought of the birth,” she explained. “And then I immediately thought, ‘Oh my God, I can’t paint that!'”

“So my head was going all kinds of ways, and I was like, ‘No, no, no, no, no. Not the birth. The wedding, the wedding, the wedding!'” she continued.

“I had to hurry, you know?” she added. “I was, like, caught off guard. I was like, ‘What am I going to do?!'”

Although Klum wasn’t expecting to illustrate a big life moment, Watson said he was impressed by her drawing skills.

“It was a lot of fun,” the magician told PEOPLE after the performance. “And her drawing was amazing that she put out. That 15 second drawing of her and her husband was amazing.”

The referee definitely decided to illustrate that moment for a reason. She and Kaulitz (34) got married in February 2019, two months after their engagement. They celebrated the occasion with a lavish ceremony in Capri, Italy.

Speaking to PEOPLE about the best part of their marriage, Klum was quick to highlight their relationship and partnership.

“I feel like I really have a partner in crime,” Klum enthuses about her husband. “We talk about big things, small things, everything in between. It’s nice to plan things with someone and really have someone by your side to do everything with – big things and small things.”

She also said that she and Kaulitz sometimes watch AGT together when he comes home to sleep over. However, she said he mostly prefers to be there in the live audience so he can cheer her on in person. “He also knows how nervous I always am,” she admitted. – And then when he is there, I become even more nervous.
