The Queen of Halloween is back.
On Tuesday, Heidi Klum, 50, arrived at her annual Halloween party with her entire costume team. For this year’s celebration, she went as a peacock, enlisting the help of others for peacock tail feathers.
Posing on the red carpet during her arrival at Marquee New York, she (and her motley crew) piled on top of each other, almost like a Cirque du Soleil performance, to transform into a large, beautiful bird.
In the center was Klum in a cobalt blue bodysuit. The American talent The judge wore an elaborate headdress with a finely crafted beak.
Klum spoke exclusively to PEOPLE on the red carpet about her inspiration for this year’s costume.

“I wanted to do a costume with many, many people. I wanted to have a bunch of people and all become one. And for me, in my mind, that one thing was a peacock,” she says.
The entrepreneur added that she flew to Montreal to figure out how to put everything together.
“My feet are a different pattern so my feet blend in with his feet,” she tells PEOPLE, explaining how their placement was important to the nuances of her costume.
Klum’s husband Tom Kaulitz walked the carpet like an egg.

Klum is known for the dramatic lengths she goes on vacation, from learning to walk on stilts to spending hours wearing prosthetics. While Klum used to do her own hair and makeup, today she has a team that helps her.
In past years, Klum has dressed as a corpse, an old woman, and Princess Fiona from Shrek, among many other iconic looks.

“I’m always trying to find things that people wouldn’t naturally do,” Klum told PEOPLE earlier this year.
Klum’s epic comeback last year (she postponed her parties due to the COVID pandemic) brought one of her most famous looks to date — a worm costume. Klum’s intense look, which revealed only her eyes and mouth, made her completely unrecognizable.

Klum’s Halloween history also includes her Jessica Rabbit costume in 2015, which required extensive prosthetics. Klum posted a video of the process on Instagram, revealing how they recreated the character’s characteristics.

Klum also turned Halloween into an interactive experience. In 2019, she shared her preparation process by undergoing a transformation in a window display in New York. In 2020, Klum showed her passion for the holiday by releasing a horror film to celebrate the spooky season.
