Henley Passport Index 2023 Ranking: Singapore is the most powerful passport in the world, see India’s ranking

Singapore’s passport is ranked the most powerful in the world, according to the Henley Passport Index 2023. This index ranks passports according to the number of countries a passport holder can visit without a visa.

The Singapore passport allows visa-free travel to 192 countries. That’s three more countries than Japan, which has been in first place for the past five years.

According to the Visa Index, “The Singapore passport is currently ranked #1 on the Passport Guide Index. It provides visa-free access to 192 countries. Therefore, it is considered one of the most desirable passports in the world with the highest mobility scores.”

Germany, Italy and Spain also lead ahead of Japan in the rankings. These countries allow visa-free travel to 190 countries.

Japan currently ranks third in the world, along with Austria, Finland, France, Luxembourg, South Korea and Sweden. These countries allow visa-free travel to 189 countries.

The U.S. passport dropped one place to eighth in the rankings, offering visa-free access to 184 countries. India’s passport ranking has risen seven places to 80th on this list of the most powerful passports in the world.
