Why did Henry Cavill leave The Witcher?
Although Henry did not specifically explain why he left the role, the time of his departure is enough to say it.
Just days before the Jersey-born actor announced his retirement from the Netflix series, he revealed that he will reprise his role as Superman in the DC Extended Universe.

Henry played the iconic superhero for the first time in 2013 Man of Steelbefore returning to her role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016) and Alliance justice (2017).
However, his return to Superman was not fate. Two months later, James Gunn was announced as the new co-CEO of DC Studios and decided to take the character in a different direction. New reboot, called Superman: Legacythere will be a new actor in the iconic role, currently revealed to be David Coreswet.

Henry took to Instagram after being fired from the role. He wrote: “After the studio told me to announce it back in October, before they got engaged, the news wasn’t the easiest, but that’s life.
“Changing guardians is something that happens. I respect that. James and Peter have a universe to build on. I wish them and all those involved in the new universe good luck and the happiest.”
The next day, Netflix confirmed that Henry would not be returning magician and the fourth season will continue with Liam Hemsworth as Geralt.

Speculation on the behind-the-scenes drama of The Witcher
While there’s no real evidence of any behind-the-scenes drama on the show, some fans have speculated that there was tension between Henry and host Lauren Schmidt Hissrich before he left. .

There were also rumors circulating on the Internet that some members of the writing team did not share Henry’s appreciation for the series.

Before the premiere of the second season, The Enola Holmes Total Film cast: “This season, I really wanted to make sure that we introduced Geralt in the book more accurately and that we saw him speak more. I worked very, very hard for the show. that.”
However, during an Instagram Q&A session, one of the show’s former writers, Beau DeMayo, suggested that Henry’s fondness for books may not be shared by some writers.
