Henry Ford was born in Greenfield Township, Michigan on July 30, 1863. His father, William Ford, was of Irish-American descent and died in 1905, while his mother, Mary Litogot Ford, died in 1876. When his mother died, Henry Ford fell and his father wanted him to take over the family farm business, but Henry refused. Henry Ford studied at the Detroit Business Institute.

Henry Ford first went to Detroit to learn and work in machinery, then returned to the farm, where he acquired skills at the Westinghouse Farm Engine. He was later hired by the Westinghouse Electric Corporation.

After a few years, Henry Ford created his first car, the “Ford Quadricycle”, and met Thomas Edison to get his approval. The Ford Model T was introduced around 1908 and sold more than 400,000 units in less than ten years. In 2017, “Ford Motor Company” has branches around the world, selling billions of cars.
