The couple – who were roommates in college and later married in 2013 – welcomed their first child in April 2020.
“It’s a scary time to bring a child into the world when it feels like up is down and down is up, but as soon as we saw her precious face, all the fear and anxiety went away,” Roth told PEOPLE at the time. “We had the best experience at the hospital (thanks to the health professionals!) and can’t wait to go home in the next few days.”
The new mum continued: “Our family and friends have been very supportive during the many video chats and although it didn’t go as planned it was absolutely perfect. She’s only a few hours old, but she’s already very loved!”

When they first announced they were expecting a child, Roth and her husband shared the exciting news with PEOPLE, saying, “The word ‘excited’ just doesn’t do justice to the emotions, feelings and overall smile I’ve been wearing since hearing the news. ”
Adding that while she and her husband were “over the top excited,” Roth said she also felt “beyond nervous” to begin the next phase of her life.
“I’m sure every new mom goes through this, but it’s a weird feeling not knowing what’s going to happen. I’ve already learned patience,” Roth added. “I had to let go of control and trust my body and I know that this little one will change everything in the best way. We can’t wait for this little guy to knock us off our feet.”
