AN ARTIST has painted a series of stunning optical illusions, but what do you see when you look at the clever artwork? Take a look and make a decision.
One image appears to depict a winter alpine scene with late-night downhill skiers surrounded by the beauty of the northern lights and the allure of a warm and cozy cabin.

But if you look a little closer – turn your head to the left – you’ll see that the image is actually of legendary Jamaican reggae artist Bob Marley.
The incredible rotating artwork – which sees skiers as eyes and teeth as a ski hut – is the brainchild of surrealist artist Frank Franklin.

The 42-year-old, who considers Salvador Dali his biggest influence, first came across these creations when he saw a painting of himself with dark shadows.
The father-of-two said: “I used Salvador Dali’s paranoid critical technique where you look at something for so long that it no longer makes sense.
“I stared at the picture for so long that a whole series of images jumped out at me.

“I first created an image of myself many years ago, and then when I came across it again, I thought I could replicate it with iconic characters.”
The optical illusion fan works on images with highly contrasting features, with prominent darks and highlights, to create his unique images.
He said: “Sometimes I can look at a picture for years and see nothing.
“The second time I look at a picture and I see pictures that are not cohesive with each other – so that doesn’t work either.
“You have to be able to make a picture as a whole, one that makes sense as a whole.”

The data installer and artist will start their drawings with a felt-tip pen, then add acrylic paints, then scan the images into the computer and work on them digitally.
He has also created artworks of musician Jimmy Hendrix, artist Salvador Dali, actress Scarlett Johansson, singer David Bowie, Walking Dead’s Rick Grimes and Hollywood actor Nick Cage.
Prints of his paintings can be bought from the website for around £45 – £50.
