Hoda Kotb started 2024 with daughters Haley and Hope by her side.
The Today the host of the show shared a series of photos of her happy family on Instagram on Sunday, taken during their intimate New Year’s celebration.
One of the photos shows Kotb (59) cuddling his daughters Haley (6) and Hope (4) while sitting on a bus. All three were dressed for the festivities, and each wore headbands with the inscription “Happy New Year 2024”. Kotb looked chic in a black silk top and a long pleated skirt. The girls were both beautiful in all pink outfits.
Other photos were taken as the trio seemingly celebrated the moment the clock struck midnight, throwing streamers around. For those shots, Kotb was dressed more casually, in a short-sleeved T-shirt and jeans.
“Thank you 2023 for the love and lessons. #grateful,” Kotb wrote in the caption of the pictures.
Kotb and her daughters live in New York, but they celebrated the New Year in a hotel on the other side of the country. On Monday morning, Kotb and she Today Costar Al Roker both hosted the Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California.
Taking to Instagram Monday morning, Kotb shared a selfie of her and Roker from the parade, with the caption, “Here we go.”
She also posted a selection of inspirational quotes and ideas for the new year. One, attributed to Brooke Hampton, read: “In Ireland, on New Year’s Eve at midnight, the tradition is to open your back door and let the old year out and open the front door to let the new one in. Out with the old, in with the new. I like that .”
The Instagram Reel Kotb posted is also built around the idea of starting the year with an empty jar and adding a note to it with a good thing that happens each week of the year. That way, at the end of the year, you can “empty the jar and read about the amazing year you had.”
Another reel shared by Kotb offered a sunrise view with the quote: “If 2023 was the year of survival, let 2024 be your year of rebirth. May you thrive in the process of getting to where you are meant to be.”

Last month, Kotb shared a look at the family’s other holiday traditions, showing photos taken as they decorated the Christmas tree, putting together ornaments, bead necklaces and a giant red bow on the holiday tree.
In the photos, Haley was standing on a booster to add the finishing touches to the tree, while the TV personality carried Hope so she could add another ornament to the top.
“It’s the season 🌲❤️”, wrote Kotb in the description of her text.

This year, Kotb and her Today co-host Jenna Bush Hager got into the holiday spirit in yet another way: by recording her own holiday single with Cheryl Porter called “A Carefree Christmas.”
“It’ll be a carefree Christmas / stop and smell the pine,” they sing on the track. “The boughs of holly make us merry / we all feel good.”
To support the release, they also shot a music video and asked viewers to help rank the songs. It did, peaking at number 7 on the iTunes chart.
