Hoda Kotb Says Breast Cancer Is ‘Part of Me, but Not All of Me’ Nearly 20 Years Later: ‘I’m Different Now’ (Exclusive)

“I mean, there are people who will get breast cancer. I didn’t think I was it,” he admits. “I mean, I ate apples and ran to the Central Park. I was like me? When they called me, they were like you,” Oh, it’s you. “I’m going, ‘I can’t be me. Why would I be me?’ I never did a single thing that would lead to this diagnosis, but still came.”

Kotb says that one of the most important things to do when receiving a diagnosis of cancer is “a deep breath and slow down.” He says people should choose a doctor who respect and admire, and then let themselves “go through what you need to go through.”

“When it comes to breast cancer, it is somehow, early, take it out and try not to define it,” says People. “It can shape you, but if it defines you, you will spend your life feeling in a certain way. Recovery runway

Kotb then referred to her participation in the Annual Runway for Recovery Annual Show as a prominent model. Calling it “incredible cause”, the fashion show included more than 65 women, men and children influenced by metastatic breast cancer.

The non -profit organization was founded by Olivia Boger to celebrate the fight against breast cancer, breast cancer survivors and those who died of illness. The event on Thursday raised $ 456,000 and the organization raised a total of $ 10.2 million since it was created.

“What I love most in this whole event is the people who walk the runways have gone through it,” Kotb says. “This is not like a red carpet model. These are the people who have gone through it and what they do is show you, do not tell you. They show you, I’m here now.

“When I had breast cancer, I remember thinking in myself, will I ever feel nice in my clothes? Will I ever feel comfortable?” “He tells people.” I look at what’s going on here and that’s extraordinary. That’s important. ”
