Home Where Menéndez Brothers Murdered Parents Sells for $17M

The California home where brothers Joseph Lyle Menéndez and Erik Galen Menéndez killed their parents has found a buyer.

The 9,063-square-foot, seven-bedroom Mediterranean-style property closed Wednesday for $17 million, according to the listing held by Rodeo Realty’s Amy Vertun.

Wednesday marked 28 years since the brothers were convicted of murdering Jose and Mary Louise “Kitty” Menéndez on August 20, 1989.

The home originally went on the market for $19,999,500 in December 2023. Its seller, telecommunications executive Sam Delug, bought the home in 2001 for $3.7 million, according to Realtor.com.

Strategic Property Analytics president Orell Anderson told the real estate listings website that he estimates the price at which the Beverly Hills home sold was “approximately 25% below prevailing market values.”

“It’s bad voodoo that comes when you’re buying a house to live in with your family, which can scare people away. There’s almost always a discount, but sometimes people who don’t mind those things buy it,” Anderson said.

The Menéndez brothers are back in the spotlight after Netflix announced that it will profile them for the second installment of its Monster The premiere of the series is expected in 2024.
