Lukas Gage Jokes His Mom 'Loved' His NSFW Scene on White Lotus: 'She Was Like, Go For It!'

Lukas Gage’s mother was totally fine with his graphic sex scene in the first season White lotus.

The actor, 28 shared further Living with Kelly and Mark on Friday that his mom “loved” an intimate scene Gage had with Murray Bartlett where Gage was literally caught with his pants down.

“. She loved it. She didn’t care,” Gage said with a smile. “She said, ‘Go ahead!’ My mom is really cool and understanding about that kind of stuff. She also says I have the cutest bum in Hollywood.”

Gage told PEOPLE in February 2023 that he’s comfortable starring in shows that involve nudity as long as there’s “really good writing and fully formed characters [and] their sexuality and their sex lives are part of it.”

“I think we’re entering an era of just true storytelling and authenticity… So I’m okay with that. That’s what I’m here for,” he said.

Bartlett, 53, who won Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards for his portrayal White lotus manager of the Armond Hotel, expressed similar sentiments to PEOPLE in June 2022.

“I like being able to show closeness between men that’s honest, loving and real, because I didn’t see that often on TV and in movies growing up. We’re all human beings with strong and vulnerable sides. I love being able to show all those sides Bartlett said.

Gage continues to step out of his comfort zone in the remake of the 2024 film House on the road acting Jake Gyllenhaal.

“It was so amazing. It was so fun to be a part of something so big, so action-packed. So involved and amazing where I got to learn how to fight. I’ve never been asked to do that before,” he shared with PEOPLE at the film’s SXSW premiere earlier in March.
