Former N.D. Principal Facing 4 Federal Charges in Connection with Child Sexual Abuse

A former North Dakota high school principal was indicted March 7 on four federal charges related to child sexual abuse, according to federal court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

David George, 39, is now charged with transporting minors, receiving child sexual exploitation images, distributing child sexual exploitation images and possessing child sexual exploitation images.

George was employed as a principal in the West Fargo Public Schools. After being arrested and charged with possession of certain prohibited materials in August 2023 by the state of North Dakota, he resigned, the Valley News reported.

Seven state charges — six counts of possession of certain prohibited materials and one count of promoting or directing obscene sexual performance by a minor — were dismissed March 12, five days after the federal case was filed.

In a federal indictment obtained by PEOPLE, George is accused of receiving online visuals of a “sexually explicit minor” between January 2020 and August 2023.

During that same 44-month period, he allegedly distributed sexually explicit content of minors on the Internet. According to the indictment, in October 2022, he “knowingly transported and caused to be transported” a minor from North Dakota to South Dakota “with the intent that that person engage in sexual activity.”

Then in August 2023, he allegedly possessed visual representations of minors in sexual activity, also from the Internet.
