House of the Dragon's Olivia Cooke Details the 'Animalistic' Sex Scene She Was Disappointed to Learn Was Cut from Show 

While sex scenes may not be new Game of Thrones fans, Olivia Cooke tackles a particularly graphic scene that was sad to learn was cut from the spinoff series.

The actress, 30, who takes on the role of Alicent Hightower in the The house of the dragonshe opened up about the “animalistic” sex scene she filmed, which was eventually cut from the final part of the series.

“It was messy k… It wasn’t pretty, but it was really fun,” she said Ella, describing the “carnal” nature of the scene. “I think so Ryan [Condal, the showrunner] said that we don’t learn more about the characters, which I kind of disagree with, but that’s okay. It’s his show.”

While she may have been disappointed with the decision, Cooke said she wasn’t angry and joked that fans might see it as a setback.

In the premiere of the second season of the film Game of Thrones spinoff, Alicent relies entirely on her carnal urges with Fabien Frankel’s Criston Cole. While viewers can expect to see more racy moments in the upcoming season, Cooke admitted that she appreciates how intentional the producers were with her character’s most intimate scenes.

“I thought there would be a lot more, so I’m relieved that when it was used for me, it shows that Alicent is satisfied, which is amazing and doesn’t feel unnecessary,” she said of the sex scenes. “It feels like we’re telling a story.”
