How to Beat the Dreadnautilus in Terraria (The Easy Way)

in every respect, Terraria It’s a gift that never stops giving. Although the game launched in 2011 it has received many updates during its existence and all of them are free. Version 1.4.1 was recently released as part of the game’s final update, Journey’s End. It adds some new content, quality of life changes, bug fixes, etc. It also adds some new achievements. One of the achievements requires the player to defeat the Nautilus Dauntless.

As the name suggests, the Dauntless Nautilus is a giant and fearsome mollusk. It’s a boss that appears under certain conditions and is really tough to fight. Luckily, there are a few steps players can take to make combat easier, and here’s how.

Defeat Nautilus Dauntless in Terraria

Nautilus of Terror will only appear in Blood Moon in Hardmode. The player can fish it out of the sea and start fighting. There are other enemies that can be summoned this way, unfortunately, the Nautilus Dauntless is one of the rarest.

It has high health, fires a ridiculous amount of projectiles, and hits attacks that can deal a lot of damage. Also, it will disappear at sunrise if the player fails to defeat it. All of this can make it an extremely difficult fight.

Luckily, there’s an easy way to make it easier for players to fight, and it requires a bit of work. This is Terraria After all, construction is an important part of the game. In this case, there is no need to build much. All the player needs to do is build a small box above the ocean. They should accumulate health regeneration through things like heart lanterns, campfires, and small honey pools. Food is also helpful. The player then simply damages the Nautilus Dauntless while standing still. Its projectiles and other enemies will be blocked by the box, and while its barrage of attacks will damage the player, they must have enough health regeneration to survive. Sometimes thinking in a box is the way to go.

In order to damage the Nautilus Dauntless, the player needs a ranged weapon. They could simply shoot through the gap in the chest (needed for fishing), but given the Dread Nautilus’ movement speed and limited player time, this might not be a viable option. Instead, players can try to get something like the Daedalus Storm Bow, which will rain arrows from the sky.

Using all these techniques can make fighting much easier. After defeating Fearless Nautilus, the player will receive an achievement called “Don’t Fear Me”. This is a new achievement, and only fourteen new achievements. Of course, there are also previous players who may not have completed it, such as the supreme helper Minion, which requires the player to complete a total of 200 fishing missions. This is probably the most difficult achievement, as it does not test the player’s skill but patience.
