Bikini

Step 1: Pack your suit into a “bikini sandwich,” as Cohen calls it. To begin, lay both pieces face up, with the untied strings on top.

Step 2: Starting with the panties, fold the right edge towards the middle.

Step 3: Take the left edge and fold to the right, folding so that it hangs a few inches.

Step 4: Turn the panties inside out. Fold the “overhang” material to the right edge, creating a pocket at the top. Tuck the crotch into the pocket.

Step 5: Move on to the bikini top: tuck the strings into the matching cups. Place the folded panty in the left cup.

Step 6: Fold the right cup over the left to make a “sandwich”.

Winter jacket

Step 1: Lay the buttoned-up jacket on a flat surface, says Liard.

Step 2: Move one sleeve horizontally towards the center and gather the jacket at the edge of the neckline.

Step 3: Fold the shoulder over and down so that the cuff is flush with the base of the jacket.

Step 4: Repeat with the other sleeve to form a long rectangle. Both sleeves should touch in the middle.

Step 5: Fold the bottom third of the jacket towards the neckline.

Step 6: Fold the jacket up again to form a small rectangle.

Round tablecloth

Step 1: The trick to bending a round shape is to tuck in the curved edges, says Liard. To start, spread the tablecloth with the seam facing up.

Step 2: Fold the top rounded edge of the fabric towards the center, about one-third of the way down. Make sure the fold line is straight.

Step 3: Repeat with the bottom edge so that both rounded ends touch the center of the straight fold lines of the fabric.

Step 4: Fold the tablecloth in thirds lengthwise to form a compact square.

Fitted sheet

Step 1: With the sheet upside down, hold it by two corners of one of the longer edges, says Cohen. Place one hand in each corner pocket.

Step 2: Bring your right hand to your left. Fold the right-hand corner over the left-hand corner so that the fabric on top is right-side out.

Step 3: Replace the left hand with the right hand inside the corner. Slide your left hand down the edge of the fabric, making sure the two layers line up.

Step 4: Once the edges are aligned, place your left hand in the pocket in the lower left corner.

Step 5: Repeat step 2 by bringing the hands together, turning the right corner over the left and aligning the edges again.

Step 6: You should now have a square shape with one straight edge. Hold the upper corners with both hands and lay it on a flat surface.

Step 7: With the straight edge on the right side, fold the left edge towards the middle. Then fold the right side over it to form a long rectangle.

Step 8: Fold the fabric into thirds and continue folding until the sheet is packed into a neat square.

Step 1: Having a fresh onesie is key for any new parent, says Liard. Start by laying it flat.

Step 2: Place one sleeve over the chest, then repeat on the other side, neatly laying one sleeve on top of the other.

Step 3: Fold the bottom third up so that the buttoned edge meets the center of the jumpsuit.

Step 4: Fold up once more to create a neat rectangle, perfect for stacking in a drawer.

Step 1: Tights are usually scrunched up in a drawer, says Liard, a method that will extend their life and keep them from snagging. First, lay the leggings flat.

Step 2: Fold the waistband down so that the top edge of the waistband is flush with the base of the leg’s eyelets.

Step 3: Fold the tights in half lengthwise, neatly tucking one leg over the other. Raise the edge of the toes towards the middle, about a quarter of the height.

Step 4: Continue folding upwards until you reach the desired size.

Step 1: Lay the zip-up T-shirt face down on a surface and flatten the hood with your hand, says Cohen.

Step 2: Move one sleeve horizontally towards the middle. Fold the shoulder back over you and down so that the cuff is flush with the base of the hoodie.

Step 3: Repeat with the other sleeve, overlapping the first folded sleeve if necessary. Fold the hood down at the neck, creating a straight edge across the top.

Step 4: Fold the bottom third of the hoodie up. Place the hood underneath, then fold it up once more.
