- To create a Snapchat group, open the Snapchat app on your phone. Then swipe right from the main camera screen to get to the chat screen where your conversations and friends are listed. Or, you can just tap the chat icon at the bottom.
- Once you’re on the chat screen, tap the chat icon again, which looks like a blue speech bubble with a pencil in it. This allows you to start a new chat.
- Now select ‘New Group’ to create a new group chat.
- Then select the friends you want to add to the group from your Snapchat friends list. You can name the group by tapping the ‘Group Name’ box at the top.
- Once you’ve selected your friends and given the group a name, tap the blue button that says ‘Chat with Group’ to complete the group creation.

People might want to leave a Snapchat group chat for a variety of reasons. You can easily leave a Snapchat group.
- Open the Snapchat app and go to the group chat you want to leave.
- Tap the group chat icon in the top left corner.
- Then tap on the three dots in the upper right corner.
- A menu will appear at the bottom. Tap ‘Leave Group’.
