The living dead ended on November 20, 2022, but its legacy lives on with numerous spin-off series.
Fear the living dead was the first spin-off to be released in 2015 and The living dead The universe continues to expand with new titles developed by AMC, expected to be released in 2023.
“It’s been ten years of ‘goodbyes’; what lies ahead are two more to come and stories and stories to tell beyond that,” chief content officer Scott M. Gimple said in a statement.
“We have a lot of exciting things [stories] There’s more to be said on TWD, and then this ending will be the beginning more Walking Dead,” he added. “Completely new stories and characters, familiar faces and places, new voices and new mythologies. This will be the grand finale that will lead to new premiers.”

Fear the living dead was the first spin-off series to be released. It premiered in 2015 and was renewed for an eighth season in 2021. Two years later, Diversity confirmed that the upcoming season will be the last of the series.
Its first three seasons serve as a prequel to the parent series, chronicling the lives of a blended family as they experience the onset of the zombie apocalypse. Meanwhile, TWD begins in the middle of the apocalypse. Another major difference between the two series is that Fear the living dead takes place in Los Angeles, California, doc TWD is located in Atlanta, Georgia.
Furthermore, the plot focuses on the — wait for it — fear of the characters as they struggle with the struggles of being human in the midst of a zombie onslaught. Their normal lives change rapidly as more and more people around them are affected by the flesh-eating plague.
The stars of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ told how they would like their characters to be killed
The cast varies throughout the eight seasons because it’s typical the walking dead mode, characters are killed. Alycia Debnam Carey as Alicia Clark, Cliff Curtis as Travis Manawa, Frank Dillane as Nick Clark and Kim Dickens as Madison Clark are among the main recurring cast. The rest are Jenna Elfman as June Dorie, Colman Domingo as Victor Strand and Mo Collins as Sarah Rabinowitz.

Speaking of spin-offs, Fear the living dead has a few of its own! The show has had several web-based spin-offs on AMC’s official website, including Fear the Living Dead: Flight 462, Fear the Walking Dead: Passageand Althea strips.
The Walking Dead: World Beyond

The Walking Dead: World Beyond was the second spin-off of TWDwith the first episode premiering on AMC in 2020 and concluding in December 2021 after two seasons.
Set in Nebraska ten years after the zombie apocalypse, the series depicts the lives of teenagers who are the first generation to come of age in the post-apocalyptic age. The location is a subtle nod TWDepisode of the second season called “Nebraska”. Additionally, more light is shed on the Civic Republic Military introduced in the original series.
The On the other side of the world The plot targets the next generation of survivors, characters who were most likely too young to tell the world before the plague. Aliyah Royale as Iris, Alexa Mansour as Hope, Hal Cumpston as Silas and Nicolas Cantu as Elton play the four main characters.
Other cast members include Nico Tortorella as Felix, Julia Ormond as Elizabeth Kublek, Annet Mahendru as Huck and Joe Holt as Leo. Season 2 also features some crossover characters from TWD such as Jeff Kober as an uncredited voice in Season 1 and Pollyanna McIntosh as Jadis Stokes in Season 2 TWD: On the other side of the world.

Stories about the walking dead was the third spin-off of the original series and premiered on AMC in August 2022.
Spin-off is an anthology that highlights new and returning characters from TWD franchise. Unlike other spin-offs with a cohesive story across seasons, Stories about the walking dead tells the individual stories of new characters in each episode — which then connect into a larger story within TWD universe.
Each episode takes place in a different location and is titled after a featured character. Furthermore, the timeline spans from pre-apocalyptic times to several years after the timeline of the original series.
The first episode stars Terry Crews as Joe and Olivia Munn as Evie, the 2nd episode stars Parker Posey as Blair and Jillian Bell as Gina, the 3rd episode stars Samantha Morton as Dee (aka TWD villain Alpha), episode 4 stars Anthony Edwards as Dr. Everett and Poppy Liu as Amy, episode 5 stars Julie Carmen as La Doña Alma.
There was no confirmation as to whether Stories about the walking dead has been renewed for Season 2 since its sixth and final episode of Season 1 which aired on September 18.

The Walking Dead: Dead City

The Walking Dead: Dead City is an upcoming spin-off company TWD and will mark the series’ fourth spin-off in total. It was originally titled Island of the dead March, but AMC changed its name to Dead city in August.
As for the plot, it will serve as a direct sequel TWDthe original series. A new series, starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, is set to follow them the walking dead characters, Maggie and Negan, in post-apocalyptic Manhattan.
“The crumbling city is full of the dead and residents who have made New York their world of anarchy, danger, beauty and terror,” reads the logline for the series. During an interview with Deadline, Morgan hinted at that Dead city will take place “a few years after the walking dead finals.”
“It’s going to be hard for these characters to work alongside each other, which is why I wanted to do that Dead city so much by the way,” he continues. “I just thought it was fascinating that you have two characters who hate each other and have to find a way to work together.”
The six-episode series is set to debut in June 2023 on AMC+ and AMC, they reported Diversitywith the walking dead writer and co-executive producer Eli Jorné signed on as showrunner and executive producer. The official premiere date will be announced later.
The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon

In September 2020, AMC announced that another spin-off was in the works, focusing on Norman Reedus’ Daryl Dixon and Melissa McBride’s Carol Peletier with TWD showrunner Angela Kang and director of content Scott M. Gimple as creators.
However, in April of this year, AMC confirmed that McBride would not be starring in the upcoming spin-off — set and filmed in France and expected to premiere in 2023.
“Melissa McBride gave life to one of the most interesting, real, human and popular characters in the world The Walking Dead universe” an AMC spokesperson said in announcing the news of her departure. “A move to Europe has become logistically untenable for Melissa at this time.”

Entertainment Weekly reported that the spin-off now focuses entirely on Reedus’ character. “We know fans will be disappointed by this news, but The living dead The universe continues to grow and expand in interesting ways and we very much hope to see Carol again in the near future,” the spokesperson added.
Harry Potter alum Clémence Poésy and chernobylAdam Nagaitis has since joined the cast.
Deadline confirmed this The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon is set to premiere in late 2023, although an exact date has yet to be announced.
Untitled series Rick and Michonne

TWDMichonne and Rick Grimes — played by Danai Gurira and Andrew Lincoln — have their own spin-off series in the works. The two stars confirmed the news at San Diego Comic-Con 2022.
AMC originally announced a trilogy of films to be filmed in 2018 (the network even announced a trailer for the film at San Diego Comic-Con in 2019!) Now the spin-off is slated as a series that will “start with six episodes,” according to press release.
According to Deadline, the spin-off will focus on “an epic love story between two characters changed by a changed world.” The challenges that arise from their long separation will be explored, and among the challenges is the ever-present threat of zombie attacks.
Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira surprise ‘Walking Dead’ fans at Comic-Con with news of spin-off series
Lincoln’s character is a sheriff who, last we saw, was presumed dead by the group of survivors he led for the first nine seasons of the show. Viewers will remember that he is actually alive, shown escaping in a helicopter.
Michonne was introduced in the third season, as a loner with a katana and zombies as pets. Her character’s relationship with Rick became a central part of the story in later seasons. The last time fans saw Michonne was when she went to find Rick.
The living dead Universe’s chief content officer Scott M. Gimple will serve as showrunner for the series, with Lincoln and Gurira serving as executive producers. Gurira is also credited as the writer of the series.
Diversity confirmed that the untitled series will begin production later this year and debut in 2024.
