Hrithik Shokeen is an Indian cricketer who got into an argument with Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana during the 2023 IPL match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians.

Hrithik Shokeen was born on Monday, August 14, 2000, in Dwarka, New Delhi (age 22; as of 2022). His zodiac sign is Leo. He attended Modern School on Barakamba Road. He has loved playing cricket since he was a child and played four hours a day. His father said in an interview that he never stopped playing even if he was injured. His father also said he would never sit in his seat at school and was always running around. When his father went to school, his teachers told him that Hrithik’s energy should be used for good things, so he decided to join an academy. According to his father, Hrithik was so devoted to the sport that he stopped attending birthday parties and weddings to avoid distractions. When he joined the U-10 team, his coach said he wasn’t tall enough to attract LBW. In a U-14 club match, he scored 263 runs off 62 balls and was selected for the Delhi U-16 team. During the trials with Vijay Hazare, he took five wickets but was not selected for the Indian team. In an interview, his father said that Hrithik used to practice (tippe) with him at 4 am. His father would often turn on the flashlight on his phone and let him practice.

Hrithik is a member of the Delhi cricket team. In 2015, he won the second Shanti Bhawan Under-14 Cricket Championship.
In 2016, when he was part of the Modern School Barakhamba Road team, he took 5 wickets for 35 runs in the Friendship Cup tournament and beat TYCA by 20 runs. In 2017, he scored 236 runs in a triangular series at Mukesh Dhawan Academy against Dwarka in West Delhi. In February 2019, he was awarded the “Man of the Match” in the youth test series between India U19 and South Africa U19.
In September 2019, he was awarded the Best Bowler Award for the 18-19 season by the Delhi and District Cricket Association.
In November 2019, he was part of the India U23 team for the 2019 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh. He made his debut for India’s U23 A squad in the Emerging Team Cup match against Nepal on 14 November 2019. As of 2022, he has represented the national team in 8 Group A matches for the India Emerging and U-23 teams, in which he took 8 wickets at an economy rate of 4.92 and his best bowling figures of 2/21. In October 2022, he was selected as the first tactical substitute named “Impact Player” in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Cup. In this match, Delhi’s target against Manipur is 167 runs. Hrithik, who replaced opener Hiten Dalal, took 2 for 13 in three overs. He made his FC debut on December 20, 2022 in Guwahati against Delhi and Assam. In February 2023, he scored 53 runs off 34 balls in the DY Patil T20 tournament and also scored 60 runs for Reliance 1 in partnership with opener Rohit Rayudu. He also became “Man of the Match” and his team won the game.

On April 16, 2023, Hrithik got into a fight with Kolkata Knight Riders captain Nitish Rana during the first innings of Kolkata Knight Riders’ IPL match against Mumbai Indians. Their fight took place in the ninth over when Hrithik was seen saying something to Rana and Rana stopped, turned around and said something to him. Hrithik bowled to Rana and took Rana’s wicket after being caught by fielder Ramandeep Singh. After taking the wicket, Hrithik turned to Rana and said something to him, resulting in an argument with Rana. To put an end to the brawl, Mumbai Indians captain Suryakumar Yadav and senior player of the match Piyush Chawla stepped in to stop them. After the match, two players were punished for breaching the IPL code of conduct during the 22nd match of the cash-rich league. MI captain Suryakumar Yadav has been fined by the IPL for maintaining a slow over rate in Mumbai’s home match against players. He was fined Rs 12 lakh for minimum over-rate violation as well as violation of IPL code of conduct. Rana was fined 25% of his match fee for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during the match against MI at the Wankhede Stadium after he admitted committing a Level 1 offense under Clause 2.21 of the IPL Code of Conduct. Hrithik was also punished after pleading guilty to Level 1 offense under Clause 2.5 of the IPL Code of Conduct.
