CORRIE star Alex Bain is calling it quits after 15 years playing Simon Barlow.
He landed the role as a seven-year-old and shocked fans in 2018 when he revealed he was becoming a teenage dad in real life.

Now 22, Alex is set to drop an explosive story this summer.
A source said: “Alex is sad to be leaving Coronation Street because it really is like family — but he realizes the time is right to move on.
“He’s very excited about the future and other opportunities.”
Alex’s girlfriend at the time, Levi Selby, gave birth to a daughter, Lydia-Rose, shortly after her 16th birthday. Alex – 16 when Levi fell pregnant – was 17 and just sitting his GCSEs.
He was involved in a number of controversial Corrie storylines and won the British Soap Award for Best Young Actor in 2011.
He was joined on stage by Chris Gascoigne, who plays his father Peter Barlow.
The Sun revealed this summer that Peter will be seen leaving in tonight’s episode.
Insiders said Chris has just taken an extended break after 23 years on the ITV show.
