Two puppies have found a forever home after being thrown over the fence of an animal shelter last month.
The shelter where the white husky puppies were dumped, the Jackson County Animal Shelter in Jackson, Michigan, announced the happy news in a Facebook post on Friday.
Alongside photos of the dogs, who are virtually identical except for their eyes — one has brown eyes, the other heterochromia — the shelter wrote: “UPDATE: SATISFIED!”

“Suffering from neglect, malnutrition and parasites, then being thrown over the fence… these two survivors are now ready to live their best lives in a loving home!” the post is over.
In the photos, the husky pups — one with a tie and the other with a bow — look happy and healthy, a far cry from their first appearance on the shelter’s Facebook page in late September, where both were visibly injured.
The moment the huskies – one male, Ryder, and one female, Reign – were thrown over the fence of the shelter was also shared on Facebook.
The shelter released security footage of the Sept. 26 incident.
In the video of the surveillance camera, the truck stops at the fence, and a person gets out of the passenger seat with both dogs in hand. The person throws the dogs over the fence of the shelter one by one before running back to the car and speeding away.

Six-month-old huskies, thrown into the shelter in bad condition, received veterinary care after their arrival, USA Today reported.
Not only did the canines arrive at the shelter malnourished and suffering from parasite problems, but one of the puppies also had head injuries, said Lydia Sattler, director of the animal shelter.
The injured puppy had “significant soft tissue swelling and bruising on the top of the head,” and a veterinarian who examined the puppy was unable to determine the cause of the injury, Sattler said.
Both huskies gained a few pounds in their first few days at the shelter before moving into a foster home together.
Sattler described the puppies as sweet, playful siblings – who can now spend their lives together with their adoptive family.

In an update to its original post, the shelter — which asked for help identifying the occupants of the truck — shared that the individuals who left the puppies behind have been identified.

According to Sattler, the people who dumped the dogs just had to knock on the shelter’s front door.
“If they had just come to the door, we would have just accepted the puppies,” she said, adding that the shelter also has a gate that “always remains unlocked.”
“That would be better than throwing the puppies over the fence,” Sattler added.
