I Can't Stop Wearing This $20 Buttery-Soft Cardigan That Feels Way More Expensive Than It Is

I live for fall, especially fashion. Nothing makes me happier than putting my bathing suits and shorts in storage and bringing out my boots, sweaters and pants. This year, while I was doing my seasonal wardrobe shift, I noticed that I didn’t have many tops to get me through the next two months. I have plenty of bulky sweaters for cold temperatures, but I don’t have enough lightweight options to keep me comfortable yet cozy in the crisp fall weather.

Luckily, I recently found what I was looking for in this best-selling cardigan from Free Assembly’s latest collection. Walmart sent me a piece a few weeks ago, and I can’t stop wearing it. The material is so luxurious and buttery soft, and the sweater can be worn multiple ways, making it an instant staple. Best of all, it’s only $20, but it resembles styles that cost over $100, so I’m grabbing more colors before they sell out.

Of course, cardigans are not revolutionary in the fall, however, recently more than ever can be seen on celebrities. Reese Witherspoon and Katie Holmes recently sported the essential layering, and earlier this summer Jennifer Garner and Gwyneth Paltrow stepped out with sweaters slung over their shoulders, proving just how versatile they are.

Like these celebrities, I’ve styled my Free Assembly Cardigan for a variety of occasions and temperatures. For casual nights out I left it open over a graphic tee and buttoned it up with a basic white tee underneath, and for a night out I layered it over a midi dress, which is especially handy if the restaurant is chilly. I love the classic fit, which is comfortable but not oversized, and the ribbed hem which sits nicely over the pants and can easily be rolled up.

It has the ideal weight for fall weather – not too thick or thin – thanks to the viscose, polyester and polyamide blend. As soon as I felt the fabric, I knew that the pullover was of good quality, and now that I have worn it several times and washed it, I can assure you that it is. My honest thoughts: Why buy a more expensive sweater when this $20 one fits the bill?

Customers also love the cardigan as much as I do. One person called it the softest thing ever, while another said they were so impressed with the quality they bought two. It is available in seven colors and sizes ranging from XS to 4X. I chose the dark navy to complement my mostly black wardrobe and go nicely with my brown boots, and now I’m eyeing the cream style while it’s still in stock.

Trust me, Free Assembly’s best-selling cardigan is worth adding to your fall wardrobe, and maybe in a few colors since it’s only $20. Below, I’ve rounded up more cozy knits to buy at Walmart for under $30.
